I am so pleased with myself right now I can hardly stand it. Now I have to go finish the other one.

Socks, cont. Tuesday, Mar 4 2008

Okay, I’ve gotten the leg part of the sock done and am at the heel. Now I’m stuck. The instructions are a little confusing to me, so, once again, I will have to bring it with me to my LYS and have the ladies there show me how to do it. Here is how my sock is looking so far…

And the yarn I’m using for it…

I’m still working on all my other projects, including the sweater for my dad. That has come to a standstill right now, I’m waiting for the rest of my yarn to come in. The LYS didn’t have enough of it, so they had to order some for me. I can’t wait for it to come in because I am almost finished. I have the back and both fronts done and about half of the sleeves. Then it will be just putting it together and presenting it to my dear old dad. I hope he likes it.

Oh, and for those who are wondering, on Ravelry, my username is the same as here:  Milmom.

SOCKS Sunday, Mar 2 2008

YAY!! I finally learned how to knit socks. I can’t believe how easy it is with the 2 circ needles. One of the wonderful ladies at my LYS helped me by showing me on a hat first. Once I got that done (and it is a beautiful hat, too, if I do say so myself),The Hat I made while learning to knit with 2 circ needles

I bought some sock yarn, the needles for the project, and now I am making me a pair of socks!

I am also still working on the sweater for my dad, my daughter’s LSU scarf (which I have unraveled and restarted) and my big comfy cozy sweater. I gave my mom her sweater and she loved it!

I haven’t really had a lot of time to get on here and update, and I am sorry about that. My problem is that spending time on the computer takes time away from my knitting, and I just don’t want to do it, so I procrastinate. I see the computer sitting there, calling me, urging me to come over and update, but I tell it I will come play with it tomorrow. Then the same thing happens the next day, and the next, etc.

Oh, well, anyway, I liked the hat I made so much that I am also going to make a scarf to go with it.

On a completely different subject, my oldest son is home on leave, so while he was home he and his fiance, my daughter, and I went to visit my husband while he is on his train-up for his deployment. (He had to get special permission for us to come visit, and even then was told not to tell any of the others that we had come.) While we were there visiting, my daughter was taking pictures and made the comment that every time she takes a picture of me, I’m knitting. I checked the pics on the camera, and she is right; I am always knitting…..

Getting ready to go visit Mark This was while we were getting ready to go…

Me walking to a bench to sit Okay, I’m not knitting in this picture, but you see the bag on my arm? That’s my knitting bag, so I’m going to knit just as soon as I can find a place to sit.

Sitting and Knitting Looks like I found a place to sit, and I’m knitting.

Sitting and Knitting again Yep, still knitting.

Still knitting I guess I really am always knitting. I do love it, though. By the way, in all of these pictures, I am working on the gray sweater I am making for my dad.
