Okay, this is the first time I have tried to insert a picture into a post since wordpress changed the layout. I cannot figure out how to do it. I click on the add media: picture link, find my picture, upload, click insert into post, then NOTHING. What am I doing wrong? I thought I’d check with you all first. If none of you can help me, I will go to Support.

knitting and Uncategorized knitting, LSU, scarf, tangueray 11:50 pm
Okay, my daughter works as a cashier in a grocery store, and yesterday she brought home an empty Tangueray canister. She told me I could have it if I wanted to use it for knitting or to store stuff in (like knitting needles, etc.) Of course, it is not tall enough to put knitting needles in, but I kept looking at it until it finally hit me. I punched a hole in the lid, filed down the edges of the hole, then dropped my ball of yarn in and threaded the yarn through the hole. Now I can knit without the ball of yarn rolling all over the floor. Here is a picture of it along with the LSU scarf I’m making for my daughter.
I only have about 12 inches on the scarf so far, but it goes really fast. It is knit in the round, then the ends are tied up with fringe, so it is actually double thickness. I like it because I can make a stockinette stitch scarf without the edges curling.

Uncategorized family, knitting, LSMSA, military 11:38 pm
This is my first time blogging on here. I hope to use this forum to discuss my ongoing trials and tribulations with my knitting projects and the difficulties of being the spouse of a deployed soldier. I don’t expect this deployment to be too difficult, however, because the kids are mostly grown and gone now. Coryn and I are the only ones left at home now, and she will be going to college next year (though she will still be living at home). With Christian away at LSMSA, I don’t have too much that I have to take care of as far as they are concerned. I’ll be adding pictures of some of my knitting projects (both finished and un) soon.
