I wish I could knit socks. I want to. I’ve been wanting to. I just can’t seem to understand how to use dpns. And now, everywhere I go (online) there are people knitting socks. Every blog I visit or surf, someone is knitting socks or has knitted socks, or just finished knitting socks. I taught myself how to knit using a book, so I was thinking that the same would apply for knitting socks. I tried, I really did. I used several different books (with pictures) but still could not get the hang of using dpns. I even tried using videos from internet on how to, but nope. Of course, this also means that any hat pattern that requires dpns, I also can’t do.  Sometimes I adjust hat patterns to accommodate my straight or circ needles, then just put a seam, but hats look so much better if they are knitted completely in the round with no seam.  One day I will ask the lovely ladies at my LYS if they would show me/teach me how to knit socks. They are all very friendly and a little impressed with some of the sweaters and scarves I’ve made, so maybe they’ll do that for me. We’ll see …
